Real Techniques Setting BRUSH

Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman Setting BrushThis is just a quick review of one of the many Real Techniques brushes I have in my collection. The Real Techniques setting brush has got to be one of my favorite brushes from this line. I even like it more than the Expert face brush that was launched around the same time as this brush. This setting brush is very unique and versatile. It almost looks like a oversized blending brush. This brush is used to set powder under your eyes or to apply highlighter in precise areas. This brush is perfect for adding the right amoung of coverage under the eyes without making it look cakey. I have to add this is also great for creme products. I've also managed to use this brush to contour.

Overall I have to say this is the perfect brush. Compared to other brushes I have even the high end ones I haven't found any type of problems with this one. No shedding at all. This brush is densely packed and with a retail price of $8.99 who can beat that. You can find this brush at Ulta.com or The Real Techniques website.

****Disclaimer: This brush was sent to me by the company for review. I was not paid for this review. This is my honest opinion.

MAC PRO AVAILABLE ONLINE

Goodbye to the days of driving into New York City and sitting through traffic to get to the Mac Pro store. Starting today October 18 Mac Pro products will be available to the public on MACCosmetics.com. You don't have to have a membership to buy pro products just like before. Its just nice to have them online. This is a great addition to the mac website and it is long overdue.

I have been playing around on the website right now to see whats available and what I can add to my list of things I want. So far I see they have the Chromalines, Pigments, Mixing mediums and Creme Color bases. I think they should separate the Pro products from the regular Mac items cause not everyone is familiar with the Pro items. But again this is a great move by Mac to add these Pro items. Good job Mac. Saves me on toll, gas and time. I am soooooooooo excited about this addition to the site.

Any thoughts. What are you guys getting?

TROPICAL TRADITIONS COCONUT OIL REVIEW

http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/images/gold_label_virgin_coconut_oil_32oz.jpg
This review is long over due but I wanted to make sure I really used this product to give you an honest review. I love Coconut Oil and when I got the chance to review a new one I was super excited. I received this product I would say about two months ago from the company. When I received this sample I was expecting a sample size jar but they sent me a 32 oz jar of coconut oil. Which was great. When I first opened the jar and smelled it I was not impressed because it did not smell good. I have used other coconut oils made from other companies in my hair and they have not smelled like this. I was very skeptical on using this. I took a chance and used it that night on my hair. (I always use Coconut oil on my hair as an overnight treatment before I wash my hair the next day). Even though it did not smell good in the jar it did not leave a bad smell or funny odor in my hair which I was surprised by. This oil made my hair very soft and manageable. It has a great texture and consistency which I did not find in other coconut oils.

You can use Coconut oil as a way to condition your hair, cooking, soothe dry skin, as a makeup remover and so on. You can google ways to use this. I have to say I am loving this product and I am using it as a prepoo for my hair. Next thing is to try cooking with this. I will keep you guys updated on how that turns out.

Their Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is hand crafted in small batches by family producers, and it is the highest quality coconut oil they offer. You can read more about how virgin coconut oil is different from other coconut oils on their website: What is Virgin Coconut Oil? You can also watch the video they produced about Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil:

Mac Style Seeker Collection

Mac Style Seeker was released today in stores and I was so excited for this collection but I must say I was not that impressed once I got to the counter. I've been watching videos on you-tube on people who were able to get these products early and reading different blogs to view some swatches. I still wanted to go out and play around with these items myself.
"Fall colour surfaces in a vivid colour collection influenced by the spirit and style of a global wanderer. She has a knack for juxtaposing vintage, ethnic, flea market and avant-garde into stunning original looks, inspiring a world of wanderlust as eclectic and fashionable as she is. Translucent, buildable, Powder Blush adds glow. Eye Shadow Duos create brilliant, sultry effects punctuated with Fluidline. Classic Mattene Lipstick is revived for dramatic, dense colour that lasts for hours. Lipglass gets fresh flair in new shades, and Nail Lacquer in jewel tones and metallics extend the opulence to the tips of the fingers"

I swatched everything while I was at the counter and the eyeshadow quads except one was a miss. They were not pigmented at all and the formula was off from the regular Mac eyeshadows. You would have to put in some work and time to build up some of these colors. There are 4 quads included in this collection and 3 of the 8 shades are already included in Mac's permanent line. I ended up with the one quad which was Marche Aux Puces. This was the most pigmented quad and I actually think its sold out online.

There are 3 blushes included which I have to say were very nice. I ended up getting Hidden Treasure just because I didn't have a color like that in my collection. I passed on everything else because I either had something similar or it just didn't do it for me.

To view the whole collection and swatches you can go to www.temptalia.com or www.allurabeauty.com. Let me know what you guys think of this collection.

Laura Mercier Lingerie Eye & Cheek Palette

When I saw this palette on someones blog ( I can't recall which one) I completely fell in love. I went searching online everywhere for this to notice it came out in January. I thought I always miss the good ones. But I still didn't give up. I was determined to get my hands on this. I got on a chat with Nordstrom (who always comes through) and she was able to track one down for me at their store in Missouri. I wanted to do a happy dance at work. I was super excited and had it ordered for me. It arrived a couple of days ago and I must say this was worth the $60 I paid. It has such beautiful colors and its very pigmented. I love the color selection because its an array of colors that's wearable everyday. It has a range of mattes, lustre, shimmer and satin eyeshadows and the shimmer is not too overbearing. The eyeshadows are smooth, they don't crease and they blend like no other. The blushes I love except the peach one because it does not show up at all on my NW45 skin. Its very sheer compared to the pink one. This is my very first product I ever bought from Laura Mercier and I must say I am excited and I cant wait to try more from this line. I was not dissappointed. I love this palette. Its small and very practical and can fit in any makeup bag you have in your purse.

Mac Volcanic Ash Exfoliator

With the Heavenly Creatures Collection came the highly anticipated Volcanic Ash Exfoliator. This is a Repromote from a previous collection I think about two years ago. I didn't buy it last time and with all the great things I heard about it I thought I should grab one before it sells out. Let me just say I am not at all impressed with this. I have been using this since it came out in July and I have broken out horrendously. Yes, it makes your face smooth but I didn't expect the breakouts.

A highly effective, dual-purpose foaming, cleansing and exfoliating scrub blending natural Volcanic Ash with fine sugar crystals. Refines and unclogs the skin, adds instant moisture: leaves skin feeling soft and comfortably clean. Mineral-rich. May be used effectively on any part of face or body. Rinses off with warm water."

This product is not as gritty as other exfoliators out there. The particles dissolve as you rub it into the skin without leaving the skin irritated. Its a mild exfoliator that doesn't have an unpleasant smell. It leaves skin feeling soft and you will notice the glow it gives. I use this 3 times a week. Besides the breakouts I will give this product a 3.5/5. This is a limited edition product so go get a sample from our nearest Mac counter.
